So sorry for the loss of your dear loved one. Death is such a hard thing to understand but it wasn't God's original purpose. Rest assured that God, whose personal name is Jehovah, considers death an enemy and he promises to do away with it in the future (1 Corinthians 15:26, Revelation 21:4). There is also a future promise of seeing our loved ones again in the future with a resurrection. This promise is found at Acts 24:15 and John 5:28-29, along with the resurrections we read about in the Bible. Even Martha, Lazarus' sister, believed in the "resurrection on the last day" (John 11:24). May these scriptures and others you find give you comfort now.
