Obituary for Arthur Joe Nubby
Duncan: Arthur Joe Nubby, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2019 in Duncan, at the age of 84.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 10, 2019, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel. All arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow. Family Visitation will be Thursday, May 9, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home.
Arthur was born Friday, March 29, 1935 in Marlow, to Edd and Besse (Sweeney) Nubby. He had lived in the Stephens county area all of his life and attended school at Marlow as well as Concho schools. Arthur married the love of his life, Elby Lois Davis in Duncan on June 3, 1957. They were married for 43 wonderful years before Elby passing on August 31, 2000. Arthur enjoyed being a silversmith, fishing, bowling, and softball. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved to sing.
Survivors include, a son, Jerry Dean Nubby of Duncan, a daughter, Lois Marie Cox and husband Reynold of Duncan, 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, a sister, Oleta Rosen of Marlow. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as cousins.
Arthur was preceded in death by a daughter, Terry Jean Nubby, a son, Allen Joe Nubby, his parents, a sister, Nora Willis, and a brother, Sim Willis.
