Obituary

Marlow: Barbara Jean Hayes, 82, passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2021 in Marlow.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 14, 2021 at the Marlow Cemetery, with Pastor Christian Smith officiating. Cremation and all arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.

Barbara was born Monday, December 19, 1938 in Littlefield, TX, to Johnny Alton and Gracie Lee (Cunningham) Garth. She attended Seventh Day Adventist Christian School. Barbara lived in Stephens County most of her life, and was employed by First National Bank at the time of her retirement. Barbara married Joe Hayes October 18, 1956 in Lubbock, TX, and they celebrated more than 64 wonderful years of marriage. She enjoyed fishing, traveling, exercising, and gardening. Barbara also enjoyed going to church, and loved her church family. Most importantly, Barbara loved her family and loved spending time with them. She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include, husband of the home, son, Randy Joe Hayes, grandson, Conner Joe Hayes, special friends, Connie and Bill Byrd of Marlow, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Larry Garth.

Barbara -such a hardworking on the go lady!
She and Joe were such good friends to my Dad where they worked together. Didn’t take long for all our family to become lasting friends as well.
