Obituary for Betty Gene Fincher (Nevels)
Marlow: Betty Gene Fincher, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019 in Marlow, at the age of 84.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at the First Baptist Church, with Rev. Ron Maxfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.
Betty was born Wednesday, February 20, 1935 in Edmond, to Monroe and Marjorie Lee (Roberts) Nevels. She lived in the Marlow area for over 50 years and attended Marlow High School. Betty married the love of her life, Monte Delano Fincher on August 20, 1953 at the Church of Nazarene in Marlow. They were married for 65 years before Monte's passing on December 3, 2018. Betty owned and operated the Fincher Drive In for over 20 years. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting. Betty loved to visit with everyone and spend time with her family. She was a great cook who made the best fried chicken around. Betty just enjoyed life and spending time with Monte. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marlow.
Survivors include, 2 sons, Monte Lee Fincher of Marlow, Tony Fincher and wife Terrie of Marlow, a daughter, Sharon Kay Johnson and husband Brian of Wilson, 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband, Betty was preceded in death by a son, James Monroe Fincher, her parents, a brother, Daniel Nevels, and 2 sisters, Gloria Ann Nevels, Pricillia Sparks.
Pallbearers will be: Justin Fincher, Ethan Seeney, Joshua Fincher, Casey Fincher, Dylan Seeney, and Jeremy Fincher.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Samuel Wishon and Seth Wishon.
