Rush Springs: Charles Michael "Mike" Blades, 73, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2021 in Oklahoma City.
No services are planned at this time. A celebration of Mike's life, will be held at a later date. Cremation and all arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Rush Springs.
Mike was born Tuesday, September 9, 1947 in Chickasha, to Alfred and Grace (Curtis) Blades. He was a graduate of Rush Springs High School, and later earned his Bachelor's degree from Cameron University. Mike was raised in Rush Springs, and lived in the Stephens and Grady County area all of his life. He was employed by CanadianValley Vo-Tech as a bus driver for one of the local routes. Mike married Donna Pendley on April 26, 1968, in Lawton, and they celebrated 53 wonderful years of marriage. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. Mike took part in many clubs and organizations throughout his life. He was a member of the Stephens County Honor Guard, Duncan PD F.O.P., PGR Patriot Riders, Red Red Rose, and the motorcycle club, The Dawgs. He loved motorcycles, classic cars, woodworking, and most importantly, spending time with his family.
Mike is survived by his wife of the home, 2 sons, Phillip Blades of Rush Springs, and Eric Todd Blades and wife Jennifer of Duncan, 6 grandchildren, Anthony Blades, Christopher Blades, Cameron Blades, Montana Barrett, Bayler Speer, and Brylon Speer, 6 great-grandchildren, brother, Kenneth Blades and wife Phyllis of Henrietta, TX, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry and Sherry Riddles of Rush Springs. Other survivors include the members of "The Dawgs" Steve Dowling, Greg Pendley, and James Harrison.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Gene Blades.
