Obituary for Clayton "Clay" Edmond Johnson

Rush Springs: Clayton "Clay" Edmond Johnson, 76, passed away Monday, May 10, 2021 in Rush Springs.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 15, 2021, at the Ft. Cobb Cemetery. Burial and all arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Rush Springs.

Clay was born Thursday, August 31, 1944 in Anadarko, to Edgar David and Beulah Mae (Harkins) Johnson. He married the love of his life, Shirley Ann Dees on July 29, 1972, and they celebrated 48 wonderful years of marriage. Clay was a proud member of the United States Air Force, and served for 20 years (1965-1985) before retiring as a Master Sergeant. After his retirement from the USAF, he began a new career working for ARCO pipeline in Purdue Bay, Alaska. Clay and his wife lived in Alaska for 22 years before relocating to Rush Springs, where they have resided for the last 20 years. He enjoyed the Alaskan outdoors, hunting, fishing, woodworking and was a member of the NRA. Clay was loved by his family and will be deeply missed.

Clay leaves behind his wife, of the home, daughter, Trina Steffan, of Jacksonville, FL., 2 grandchildren, Christin Parise, and Lane Steffan, 3 great-grandchildren, Asher Parise, Ava Parise, and Carter Parise, and nephews Davidd and Dennis Dooley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Weda Nell Dooley..
