Obituary for Darlene Kay Long

Rush Springs: Darlene Kay Long, 70, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 11:10 AM in Oklahoma City from natural causes.

Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, August 22, 2022, at the Southern Baptist Church, with Rev. Paul Phipps officiating. Burial will be in the Westview Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow, Oklahoma.

Visitation for Darlene will be at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs on Saturday, August 20, 8:30 AM- 8:30 PM, and Sunday, August 21, 1:00 - 8:30 PM.

Darlene was born Monday, February 4, 1952 in Chickasha, OK. Parents Arnold Braley, Eva Mae, and Ray Ferguson. She grew up attending Moore schools. Darlene lived most of her life in Rush Springs and worked as a department manager for Wal-Mart for several years. Darlene was an avid horse lover and she enjoyed driving the wagon with them and riding the trails at Duncan Lake. She also enjoyed spending time on her pontoon boat and camping. Christmas time was her favorite and she loved decorating for Christmas and watching Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel, and Nerd TV. Darlene was a natural caregiver and she loved nothing more than caring for her animals, friends, and her family. Her grandkids were the light of her life, to the very end they were what brought the biggest smiles. She will be missed deeply by all.

Survivors include 2 sons, Brian Long and wife Stephanie of Norman, and Shannon Long and wife Rebecca of Yukon; grandchildren, Rickie, Abbie, Sydney, Zach, Carson, LeeAnn, Angel, Kelby, Sadie, Dallee, Kali, and Jenna; brother, Alan Ferguson of Chickasha; sister, Sheila Guerrero and husband Bobby of Chickasha; Step mother Ginny Braley, and brothers Steve and Ken of Milwaukee, WI; long time best friend, Lisa Dorman of Rush Springs, and numerous nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray Ferguson, loving friend and father of her sons Leroy Long and son, Mark Long.

Pallbearers will be: Rickie Long, Zach Long, Mavrick Guerrero, Dalton Gwinn, Dylan Gwinn, and Dakota Gwinn.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Woodrow Sweat, Jacob Sweat, Jerry Fitzpatrick, Mike Trusty, Buddy Martin, and Gary Bray.
