Marlow: Donald Wayne Waller, 78, passed away Friday, March 11, 2022 in Oklahoma City.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Marlow, with Darrell Blaine officiating. Burial will be in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.
Visitation will be Monday, March 14, 12:00-8:30 PM at the funeral home.
On Friday, March 11, 2022 at 12:30 PM, Donald Wayne Waller, loving husband, father, papa, grandfather, and friend passed away at the age of 78 in Oklahoma City, OK.
Don was born April 7, 1943 to Daniel and Minnie Waller in Marlow, OK. He had 2 sisters and 3 brothers. He grew up and attended Marlow Schools, where he had many friends and his love for football began and grew. He graduated in 1961. In 1965, he met and married Edith Williams. Don and Edith remained in Marlow and had 2 sons and 1 daughter. He and Edith enjoyed raising their children and playing music with family and friends. They were married for 40 years at the time of Edith's passing in 2005. Don was a proud member of the National Guard. He was a machinist at Halliburton for 32 years and eventually owned and operated his own machine shop until his retirement. Don reunited with a Marlow classmate Janeice Short and they married in 2010. He and Janeice enjoyed hunting, fishing, and a few casino visits here and there. They were married until her death in 2020. While Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking (bird feeders and bird houses), his greatest love was his family. His family brought him more joy and happiness than any hobby he ever had. Don will be missed for his steadfast love for his family and friends, and his witty sense of humor and the never ending supply of popsicles for the grandkids.
Don leaves behind 2 sons, Junior Waller and wife Lea Ann of Comanche, Harold Waller and wife Julie of Marlow; daughter, Tonya Chesser and husband Mike of Yukon; 2 step-daughters, Shelly Collins and husband Floyd, and Sheryl McCarty and Travis Newport of Moore; Grandchildren, Jennifer Whaley and husband Jason, Alex Whaley and fiance' Jon Anderson, Dylan Waller, Destiny Edie and husband Austin, Kamryn Waller, Chelsea Hinkle and fiance' Zach Judd, Chuck Collins, Katie Unruh, Katrina Marchbanks, Tyler McCarty, Bradly Lowry, Keith Lowry, Harlyn Chesser, and Qualyn Chesser; great-grandchildren, Jentry Whaley, Kamryn Marchbanks, Makenzie Marchbanks, Hunter Marchbanks, Garrett Unruh, Massy Unruh, Maeli Lowry, and Reid Alan Cummings; brother-in-law Charlie Wyatt of Ryan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his first wife Edith, Don is preceded in death by wife Janeice, parents Daniel and Minnie, 3 brothers, Coy, Kenneth, and Clayton Waller, and 2 sisters, Berdie Wyatt and Veve Cowan.
Pallbearers will be: Dylan Waller, Dale Cooper, Austin Edie, Duncan McDonald, Jason Whaley, Zach Judd and Bradly Lowry.
