Obituary for Elijah James Crow

Marlow: Elijah James "E.J." Crow, 94, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2022 in Marlow.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at the First Baptist Church in Marlow, with Rev. Ron Maxfield officiating. Burial will be in Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smtih-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday, September 12, 12:00-8:30 PM, and Tuesday, September 13, 8:30 AM-8:30PM.

E.J. was born Monday, August 20, 1928 in Grapevine, TX, to Erskin and Lela (York) Crow. He graduated from Tecumseh High School, going to work for Rock Island Railroad by age 19. He married the love of his life Nellie "Nancy" Lee Marsh, February 27, 1948 in Earlsboro. E.J. and Nancy celebrated more than 71 wonderful years of marriage at the time of her passing in 2019.

He moved his family to Marlow in 1963 to open OTASCO on Main Street in May of that same year. He, Nancy, and their two sons, Mike and Ronnie, ran the store together for many years and it remains open today. In 1975 E.J. and Nancy moved to a farm south of Marlow to raise angus cattle. He was a longtime member of FBC where he had served as director of the youth department, church deacon and sang in the choir. He had a passion for music and singing. He enjoyed working his cattle, fishing, and camping in Red River, N.M. with family and friends. He and Nancy also enjoyed hosting the Crow family reunion at Thanksgiving for nearly 40 years.
He always put his love for The Lord and his family above all else and he cherished the time spent together. E.J. will be deeply missed by all of his family, friends, and much of the community.

Survivors include 2 sons, Mike Crow and Wife Barbara of Marlow, and Ronnie Crow of Lawton; 5 grandchildren, Kristy Goodrich and Greg, Cindy Crow, Nathan Crow, Andrea Kemp, Eric Crow and Wynona; 7-great grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

In addition to his loving wife Nancy, E.J. was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, Floyd Crow, Harold Crow, Olan Crow and William Crow, and 2 sisters Mildred Ziegler and Mae Willis.

The family would like to extend a huge thank you to the staff of Choice/Kindful Hospice, his daily caregivers and a special thank you for the loving and attentive care provided by his great-granddaughter Kaley Arrington.

Pallbearers will be; Bob Hill, Tom Travis, Gene Cobb, Lynn Bailey, Ron Newby and Tim Crow.

Honorary Pallbearers will be; Barbara Taylor, Lou Ann Callaway, Terie Callaway Greaves,Terry Beard, Blake Berry, George Gower, Mike Shea, Cornerstone Sunday School Class and Deacon's of FBC.
