Obituary for Elsie Marie Base

Rush Springs: Elsie Marie Base, 90, passed away Monday, April 25, 2022 in Lawton.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 29, 2022 at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs, with Rev. David Hale officiating. Burial will be in the Westview Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Rush Springs.

Visitation will be at the Rush Springs Chapel on Thursday, April 28, 8:30 AM - 8:30 PM, and Friday, April 29, 8:30 AM - 1:30 PM.

Elsie was born Friday, October 2, 1931 in Rush Springs, to George Frank and Minnie Marie (Fitzpatrick) Seymour. She attended Grady County Schools. Elsie lived in Grady County most of her life and she spent her time as a homemaker. She married the love of her life Arthur Lee Base and they spent many wonderful years together until he preceded her in death in 2002. She enjoyed ceramics, sewing, cooking, and loved her pet birds. Elsie dearly loved her family, and she enjoyed taking care of her grandkids and spending time with her family. She will be missed by many.

Survivors include 3 sons, Monty Base and wife Kristie of Lawton, Ronnie Base of Rush Springs, and Arthur Base of Rush Springs; 9 grandchildren, Zac, Kelsie, Michaela, Cale, Chloe, Claire, Mia, Kyle, and Tammy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her loving husband, Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, Bernis Franklin Seymour, Roy Lee Seymour, and Arthur Jackson Seymour, and sister, Lola May Seymour.
