Obituary for Essie Smith

Essie Mae (Mask) Smith, 93, went to be with the Lord & Savior on Sunday, August 13, 2006 in Lufkin, TX.Graveside Services for family only will be held at 3:00 pm, Tuesday, August 15, 2006 in the Rush Springs Cemetery with Ken Hudson officiating under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs, Oklahoma.Mrs. Smith was born Monday, May 12, 1913 in Gainesville, Texas, to the late Oscar L. and the late Ada Lou (Sykes) Mask.  Mrs. Smith resided most of her life in Rush Springs, Oklahoma.  The past 4 years she has been residing in Lufkin, Texas with her daughter and son-in-law, Ken & Sue Hudson.  She was a member of the Church of Christ.  Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law Jackie & Opal Wright of Duncan, Oklahoma and daughters and sons-in-law: Sue and Ken Hudson, Kay and Doug Jones both of Lufkin, Texas.  Grandchildren Rodney and Becky Dorman, Cindy Cutler, both of Lufkin, Texas, Michael and Julie Dorman, of Splendora, Texas. Tammy and Donna Wright of Duncan, Oklahoma, and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband Leemon (Smitty) Smith and son Ricky Smith.Honorary Bearers-Rodney Dorman, Michael Dorman, Chance Dorman, Jeremy Largent, Bryce Dorman, Chase Dorman, Doug Jones & Ken Hudson.
