Obituary for Florence Wood
Rush Springs: Florence Wood, 94, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021 in Lindsay.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at the Marlow Cemetery, with Rev. David Hale officiating. Burial will be in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.
Florence was born Monday, October 4, 1926 in Leigh, Lancashire, U.K., to Frank and Agnes (Wood) Leather. She met J.D. Wood and they were married in Leigh, Lancashire in 1946, and celebrated 57 years of marriage until his passing June 4, 2003. Florence relocated to the United States, and lived most of her life in the Grady County area. She was a homemaker and loved every second of it. Florence enjoyed reading, flower gardening, and knitting, but she especially loved spending time with her family and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include, son, John David Wood of Chickasha, and 4 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons, Stephen Frank Wood, and Charles Anthony Wood.
