Comanche: Francis Katherine Watkins, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2020 in Meridian, at the age of 96.

Due to Covid19 there will be a private service. Arrangements are under the care of the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Service in Marlow.

Francis was born Friday, June 13, 1924 in Bray, to John Dow and Mary Elizabeth (Cunningham) Sparks. She has lived in the Marlow and Duncan areas most of her life, and attended Oak Grove School. Francis married Billie James Watkins in Marlow on March 4, 1943; they were married for 65 wonderful years before Billie's passing on November 4, 2008. Francis was employed in the printing office at Halliburton's for many years. She and B.J. also owned and operated the Dairy Queen in Duncan. She then worked with her husband at B.J.'s Hot Shot Service for many years before retiring. In her free time, she enjoyed working in her yard and flower beds. She and B.J. were members of the HitchHikers RV Club and traveled over the U.S. and Canada with friends. Francis loved her family. She adored her son and grandchildren, and loved spending time with them. Family meant everything to her and every loss caused her to lose a piece of her heart. She lost the biggest part of her heart when B.J. passed. We now have a huge piece of our hearts missing due to her loss but know that she and B.J. and her family have been reunited. She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Duncan.

Survivors include a son, Keith Watkins and wife Shirley of Comanche, 2 grandchildren, Cathy Jo Bahnsen and husband Dwight of Dewey, Chuck Watkins of Portland, OR, 2 great-grandchildren, Macie Watkins, Colten Coursey, a great-great granddaughter, Kynnleigh Watkins, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband, Francis was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, Charlie Sparks, Hayden Sparks, Buck Sparks, TR Sparks, Tommy Sparks, 3 sisters, Pauline "Pud" Pollard, Mary Lou Scott, and Earline Lamb.
