Obituary for Harold Hogan Duke Jr.

Rush Springs: Harold Hogan Duke, passed away Monday, February 3, 2020 in Duncan, at the age of 71.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 8, 2020, at the First United Methodist Church in Rush Springs, with Pastor Randy Thomason and Pastor Chris Stinnett officiating. Burial will follow in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs.

Harold was born Sunday, January 23, 1949 in Chickasha, to Harold Hogan Sr.and Elwanda Roslyn (Carter) Duke. He had lived in the Rush Springs area all of his life and had graduated from Rush Springs High School. Harold married Debra Gwyn Adams on August 14, 1971 in Rush Springs; they were married for 22 years before her passing on August 14, 1993. Harold later married Jackie Marie Barfield in Las Vegas on November 16, 1996, they were married for 23 years before his passing. Harold was a rancher that loved his cutting horses and was a great horseman. He loved to just ride a great cutting horse and to tell stories. Harold enjoyed reading Louis L'Amoure books. He always had a bird dog and liked to quail hunt. Harold was a member of various cutting horse association such as AQHA, National Cutting Horse Association as well as the Cattlemen's Association. He was also a member of the First Methodist Church in Rush Springs.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie Marie Duke of the home, 2 sons, John Duke and wife Denise of Rush Springs, Douglas Duke and girlfriend Amanda of Rush Springs, 5 grandchildren, Jacob Duke, Gentry Duke, Brandon Duke, Kirk Duke, Charlotte Horn, a God Son, Waylon Holley, and several cousins.

Along with his first wife, Debra; Harold was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Douglas O. Duke.

Pallbearers will be: Jacob Duke, Brandon Duke, Kirk Duke, Waylon Smith, David Teel, and Lonnie Brown.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Donnie Cosby, J.R. Brimer, Shane Teel, and Dan Teel.
