Obituary for Henry Loyal Benton
Marlow: Henry Loyal Benton, 90, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2020 in Marlow.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 4, 2021, at the Marlow Cemetery, with Rev. Lynn Parkhurst officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.
Henry was born Friday, August 1, 1930 in Rose Bud, AR, to James and Virgie (Heffington) Benton. He lived in the Marlow area all of his life. Henry met June Williams and they married on September 4, 1948, in Wichita Falls, TX., and they celebrated 65 years of marriage. He attended the Barber College in Oklahoma City, and was employed as a barber at Hi-Way 81 Barber Shop for over 38 years before retiring. Henry enjoyed dancing, fishing, hunting, watching western movies, being outdoors, and he especially loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include, son, Gary Benton and best friend Aleesha Kern of Marlow, daughter, Galia Wilson of Ft. Gibson, 5 grandchildren: Aimee Acuff, Casey Bates, James Benton, Travis Wilson, and Madalyn Taulbee, 7 great-grandchildren: Briana Acuff, Madison Acuff, Preston Benton, Amy Taulbee, Christopher Taulbee, Hadlee Wilson, and Kaylee Wilson. Other survivors include numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and his special friend, Goldie Purtell of Marlow.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 1 brother, and 1 sister.
