Obituary for Jimmie Delano Barton

Marlow: Jimmie Delano Barton, passed away Friday, November 8, 2019 in Marlow, at the age of 82.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at the Gospel Tabernacle in Marlow, with Kenny Patterson and Rev. Matt Bernard officiating. Burial will follow in the Marlow Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Stephens County Honor Guard. All arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.

Jimmie was born Monday, January 25, 1937 in Marlow, to William Lara and Katie Lorene (Franklin) Barton. He lived in the Marlow all of his life and attended school at Central High School. Jimmie married his loving wife, Peggy Riley Rich in Marlow on July 18, 1987; they were married for 32 wonderful years. Jimmie enjoyed farming and working in the oilfield. He enjoyed singing especially gospel music. Jimmie liked to trade and attend any flea market within miles; he could always be found with a smile on face when there. He loved taking care of his family and especially loved his baby Angela. Jimmie was a member of the Gospel Tabernacle Church.

Survivors include, his wife, Peggy Barton of the home, 2 sons, Jimmie Barton, Jr. and wife Sherry of Bray, Jon Rich and wife Paula of Marlow, 5 daughters, Terrie Bond and Charley Justus of Duncan, Jamie Brown and husband Mike of Duncan, Diane Smith and husband Tim of Lawton, Lisa Bernard and husband Matt of Duncan, daughter, Angela Barton of Duncan, 16 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. He was also survived by 2 brothers, John Barton and wife Marlene of Washington, LeRoy (Bud) Barton of Bray, 2 sisters, Leone Sis Carson of Bray, Margaret Dorsey and husband Gary of AR, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn (Cookie), a grandson, Nathan Barton, his parents, 5 brothers, Tom Barton, Joe Barton, Ed Barton, David Barton, Kenneth Lavone Barton, and 2 sisters, Jessie Mae Bernard, Kathrine Elroy Morrison.

Pallbearers will be: his grandsons.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: his grandsons.
