Rush Springs: Joan Woody, 90, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at her home in Rush Springs.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, October 21, 2022, at the Rush Springs Cemetery. Burial and all arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.
Viewing for Joan will be at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Marlow on Thursday, October 20, 2:00 - 5:00 PM.
Joan was born Saturday, March 12, 1932 in Durant, to Thomas Houston and Minnie Idaline (Coleman) Hampton. She was a graduate of Comanche High School. Joan had lived in Rush Springs for more than 50 years at the time of her passing. She married Guy Estley Woody, November 30, 1970 in Rush Springs. Joan enjoyed going to the senior citizen's center and Vimy Ridge Church and she valued the many friendships she formed from both. She loved her family and taking care of her daughter. Joan will be deeply missed by many.
Survivors son, Thomas Alan Gashlin, and daughter Deborah Jeanice Gashlin, both of Rush Springs.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
