Obituary for Joyce Evelyn Mann (Jones)
Mustang: Joyce Evelyn Mann, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2019 in Mustang, at the age of 92.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Marlow, with Rev. Jerry Couch officiating. Burial will follow in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.
Joyce was born Thursday, October 7, 1926 in Lindsay, to Authur William and Violet Gertrude (Stuard) Jones. She graduated from Lindsay High School and continued her education at Cameron University becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked for the Lindley Hospital in Duncan for many years before retiring. Joyce married the love of her life, Benjamin Robert Mann in Lindsay on November 4, 1944. They were married for 66 wonderful years before his passing on July 12, 2011. Joyce had lived most of her life in the Stephens and Garvin county areas. She was well known for making candy and being very involved in church. Joyce was a Sunday school teacher for many years and enjoyed helping with the Vacation Bible School as well as other activities in the church. She enjoyed traveling and camping. Joyce liked sewing and crocheting. She loved to tinker in her she shed but over all Joyce loved spending time with her beloved family.
Survivors include, 2 sons, Gary Robert Mann and Meja Foster of Sallisaw, Benny Lyn Mann and wife Mary Nell of Duncan, a daughter, Linda Joy Mertens and husband Gary of Mustang, OK, 3 grandchildren, Angela Woods and husband Ken of Burkburnett, TX, Greg Mertens and wife Becky of Springfield, OH, and Howard Mann and wife Courtney of Duncan, 7 great-grandchildren, Zach Mertens, Ashley Mertens, Justin Thomas Mertens, Ashley Popejoy, Dustin Mann, Justin Mann, Ava Rose Mann, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband, Joyce was preceded in death by her grandson, Justin Robert Mann, her parents, and a brother, Everett William Jones.
Pallbearers will be: Gary Mann, Benny Mann, Gary Mertens, Greg Mertens, Howard Lyn Mann, and Ken Woods.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Dustin Mann, Justin Mann, Zach Mertens, and JJ Mertens.
