Altus: Karen Ann Darling Gannon, 75, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021 in Duncan.
At the family's request, no services are planned at this time. Cremation and all arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.
Karen was born Tuesday, November 13, 1945 in Hot Springs, SD, to Robert and Bertha (Huebner) Darling. She married David Gannon in 1980 in Vernon, TX., and they celebrated 38 years of marriage before he preceded her in death in 2018. Karen was a military wife who lived all over the world, and she spent her time being a homemaker. She loved sewing, cooking, reading, genealogy, and writing poetry. She was also a member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe.
Survivors include, 3 sons, Vincent Coberly of Noble, Richard Coberly of Altus, and Reginald Lewis, Jr. and wife Johnetta of Sturgis, SD, 2 daughters, Janice Tate and husband Gale of Duncan, and Terrie Dawn Berryhill of Altus, 10 grandchildren, Tabitha Tate, Jillian Leverich and husband Walter, Megan Tate, Michael Davis and wife Nikki, Matthew Berryhill and wife Deanna, Lacy Arroyo and husband Emanuel, BayLee Berryhill, Kris Puckett and wife Elizabeth, Max Lewis and wife Mackenzie, and Ariel Lewis, 12 great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Marlee, Knox, Madeline, Blythe, Cade, Elias, Esai, Natalie, Isaiah, Ryker, and Truett, brother, Theodore "Ted" Darling and wife Ida of Rapid City, SD, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Karen was preceded in death by her husband, parents, great-granddaughter Briella Arroyo, 3 brothers, Robert Darling, James Darling, and George Darling, and 1 sister, Alma Parrish.
