Obituary

Rush Springs: Kenneth James Cowan, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2019 in Duncan at the age of 77.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 14, 2019, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel, with Greg Gibson officiating. Cremation and all arrangements have been entrusted to the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs.

Kenneth was born Thursday, September 24, 1942 in Marlow, to James A. and Audrey (Henderson) Cowan. He graduated from Marlow High School and earned a bachelor's degree from the USAO. Kenneth had lived in the Grady county all of his life. He was a bookkeeper for many grocery stores and had served in the National Guard. Kenneth enjoyed gardening, reading, and carpentry work. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include, his brother, Bruce Cowan of TX, his sister, Jean Gibson of Oklahoma City, numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a best friend, Ralston Acrey of Rush Springs, a friend, Caitlyn Aker and husband Michael of Rush Springs, as well as a host of other friends.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Jerry Cowan, and 3 sisters, Melba Brisco, Shirley Singleterry, Sue Cowan.
