Obituary for Kim Shirley

Marlow: Kim Shirley, 67, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2022 in Oklahoma City.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 11, 2022, at the First Baptist Church, with Dr. Joe Ligon and Rev. Jordy McKaskle officiating. All arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.

Kim was born Friday, February 18, 1955 in Duncan to Hugh and Joan (Williams) Shirley. He was a graduate of Duncan High School. Kim lived in the Marlow area most of his life. He served as a small arms instructor in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era. After his time in the USAF, Kim worked in civil services for the United States Corps of Engineers. He married Katherine Whaley in Wichita Falls, Tx in 1973. Kim later married Cinda Solomon, February 3, 2013, in Duncan. He and Cinda celebrated 9 wonderful years of marriage at the time of his passing. Kim enjoyed deer hunting, bicycle riding, woodworking, and he was a huge fan of Minion. He was known for his storytelling. Kim had the tendency to tell stories over, over, and over again. He would watch hours of YouTube videos finding out how to fix things. Kim was a man who would drop everything in an instant to be able to help somebody, and most knew him as "Unclebuk". He loved children, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Back in his younger days, Kim would whistle and the kids would come running. He loved his family the most, and cherished any time they got to spend together. Kim's absence has been felt deeply and he will be missed by all.
