Obituary for Kirk L. Fuller
Marlow: Kirk Leroy Fuller, 87, passed away Monday, December 26, 2022 in Marlow.
Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Marlow, with Adam McConnell officiating. Burial will be in the Ft. Sill National Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday, January 2, 8:30 AM - 8:30 PM.
Kirk was born Wednesday, July 24, 1935 in Iowa City, IA, to Kirk and Evelyn (King) Fuller. He was a graduate of Pleasantville High School in Pella, IA. Kirk made Marlow his forever home in May 1973 and spent the majority of his life working as an auto mechanic. Kirk was also a proud member of the United States Army from 1954 to 1966. While serving in the Army, he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and a National Defense Service Medal. He was a member of the VFW, AMVETS, and DAV. Kirk enjoyed camping, working in his yard, and playing cards. He was known to have never met a stranger and would stop and talk to anyone he crossed paths with. Kirk loved his family deeply and valued any time spent with them, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His absence will leave a hole in the hearts of those who loved him and he will be missed by all.
Survivors include 2 sons, Kirk E. Fuller and Sandy of Knoxville, IA, and Douglas J. Fuller and wife Kay of Duncan; 2 daughters, Barbara A. Downey and husband Dub of Duncan, and Gale L. McConnell and husband Gary of Central High; 8 grandchildren, Gary Fuller, Kirk E. Fuller, Jr., Rachel Young, Adam McConnell, Laura Payne, Amanda Constantin, Anthony Downey, and Stephanie McConnell; 12 great-grandchildren, Jesse Fuller, Addyson Downey, Ambree Downey, Harli Young, Axlynn Downey, Ryden Payne, Bryley Payne, Emma McConnell, Norah McConnell, Hudson McConnell, Rayne Olson, and Daphne Vandusen; sister, Darlene Rozenboom of Pella, IA; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Kirk was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be: Gary Fuller, Adam McConnell, Anthony Downey, Jeremy Young, Jules Constantin, and Brett Payne
Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe Irwin, Mark Brown, and Kirk E. Fuller Jr .
