Duncan: Louie Allen Nichols, 71, departed this life on Saturday, September 29, 2018 in Yukon.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM, Friday, October 5, 2018, at the Phyllis and Louie's Home at 1895 Gatlin Road in Duncan. All arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.

Louie was born Friday, June 13, 1947 in Marlow, to John Orville and Anna Edith (Clay) Nichols. He lived in the Marlow area most of his life and had attended Marlow High School. Louie married the love of his life, Phyllis Hedin on September 20, 1979 in Duncan. He served in the United States Army and played football while in the Army. Louie loved to travel and spent many hours looking at the atlas to pick out places to visit as he loved to see new places. He liked to watch the history channel and especially liked watching war movies. Louie enjoyed throwing parties and was a great dancer. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and going camping. Louie was an excellent athlete and was very sports oriented. He was always involved in coaching his children and grandchildren, or watching them play, and even coached in mighty mites football in Rush Springs as well as his softball in Marlow. He was a great athlete that enjoyed watching all of his children and grandchildren play sports. Louie was a very family oriented man that was extremely active in his grandchildren's lives. He was much loved and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Nichols of the home, 2 sons, Scooter Scarbrough and wife Theresa of Marlow, Scott Nichols of Rush Springs, 2 daughters, Marcine Taylor and husband Will of Marlow, Terri Chambless of Frisco, TX, 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren. He was also survived by 3 brothers, Johnny Files and wife Dorothy of Newcastle, Harold Files and wife April of Glenpool, James Nichols of Oklahoma City, and a sister, Ella Mae Fink of Zell, SD.

Louie was preceded in death by a son, Shawn Charles Scarbrough, his parents, and a brother, Richard Files.
