Obituary for Mary Lorena Brooks
Marlow: Mary Lorena Brooks, 83, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021 in Marlow.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 10, 2021, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home, with Allen Daniels officiating. Burial will be in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.
Mary was born Sunday, January 23, 1938 in Marlow, to William H.and Ottie May (Worley) Daniels. She attended Marlow High School and lived in Marlow all of her life. Mary married Finis Brooks April 15, 1990 in Marlow, and they celebrated almost 16 years of marriage, until he preceded her in death on March 2, 2006. In Mary's spare time she enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles, watching western movies, embroidery, and making quilts. She spent her time being a homemaker, and loved nothing more than her family and spending time with them.
Mary was baptized in her teenage years and during that time, she was a faithful member of the Marlow Primitive Baptist Church. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ and during her last days on earth, she looked forward with fondness to going to her heavenly home. She was loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all.
Survivors include, 3 sons, Roy Lee Thompson of Marlow, Ronalds Dewayne Thompson of OKC, and Russell Wayne Thompson of Chickasha, daughter, Barbara Jane Blundell of Marlow, 5 grandchildren, 2 sisters, Sherron McMahan and husband Bill of Marlow, and Beverly Slate and husband James of Marlow, brother, Allen Daniels and wife Julia of Oklahoma City, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, Bonnie Jolley, and 3 brothers, Donald Daniels, Dale Daniels, and Leo Daniels.
Pallbearers will be: Daryl Daniels, Michael Daniels, Lonnie Daniels, Bryan Harter, Brian McMahan, Mark Scoles, and Jeremy Conn
