Marlow: Mary Jane Brown, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2019 in Marlow, at the age of 77.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 18, 2019, at the First Baptist Church East Lawton, with Rev. Doug Passmore officiating. Burial will follow in the Letitia Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.
Mary was born Saturday, May 23, 1942 in Comanche, to James Taylor and Lois Audrey (Roach) Ray. She attended school at Geronimo and graduated from Central High School. Mary earned a bachelor's degree from East Central University and worked as a pre-school teacher at Delta Head Start for many years. Mary married the love of her life, Elmer "Lee" Brown on June 12, 1960 at the Letitia Baptist Church; they were married for 59 wonderful years before her passing. Mary enjoyed reading and gardening. She was passionate about her work for the Lord as a Chaplin with the Baptist Disaster Relief. Mary loved spending time with her family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church East in Lawton.
Survivors include, her husband, Elmer "Lee" Brown of the home, a son, Kurt Brown and wife Stephanie of Marlow, a daughter, Janet Knapp and husband Darrell of Duncan, 5 grandchildren, Jonathon Knapp and wife Dana, Jennifer Killmer and husband Chris, Jeromy Knapp and wife Taylor, Joshua Brown, James Brown, 5 great-grandchildren, Aubrey Knapp, Alison Knapp, Amery Knapp, Vivian Killmer, and Karsten Killmer. She is also survived by a brother, Bill Ray and wife Sarah of Waurika, 3 uncles, Alonzo Roach, Jack Roach and wife Beverly, John Roach and wife Cora of Fletcher, an aunt, Lenora Dowlen, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, aunts, and uncles.
Pallbearers will be: grandsons and nephews.
