Marlow: M.D. "Buddy" Sewell, passed away Monday, June 10, 2019 in Duncan, at the age of 81.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, June 14, 2019, at the Eastside Baptist Church, with Rev. Mike Bernhardt officiating. Burial will follow in the Marlow Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Stephens County Honor Guard. All arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.
Buddy was born Monday, September 20, 1937 in Rusk County, Texas to Harvey "Doc" Allen and Bobbie Leigh (Hunnicutt) Sewell. He graduated from Gaston High School in Texas. Buddy served his country proudly for more than 62 combined years in the United States Navy, United States Army, and the Army National Guard. He married the love of his life Myrna Dorman in Marlow at the Nazarene Church on May 8, 1982, they were married for 37 wonderful years. Buddy had lived in the Marlow area since 1968 and was a retired truck driver. He liked music and playing his guitar as well as the mandolin. Buddy enjoyed reading especially Louis L'amour and other westerns. He loved history especially military history. Buddy liked bang 'em up, shoot 'em up movies that starred John Wayne and Chuck Norris and he always dreamed of being a Texas Ranger. Buddy was loved dearly by many and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with his loved ones.
Survivors include, his wife, Myrna Loy Sewell of the home, 4 sons, Bobby Joe Sewell of Gainesville, TX, Brett Kimbro and wife Sonya of Marlow, Ricky Kimbro of Marlow, Mark Kimbro of Duncan, 2 daughters, Mardeana "Cricket" Jean Morton and husband Tom of Duncan, Cheryl Jean Sanford and husband Timmy of Marlow. He was also survived by 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Harley Allen Sewell.
Pallbearers will be: his grandsons.
