Obituary for Mickey Dee McClure

Rush Springs: Mickey Dee McClure, 83, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2023, in Rush Springs, just 2 days shy of his 84th Birthday.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 27, 2023, at the Vimy Ridge Baptist Church, with Rev. David Hale officiating. Burial will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow, Oklahoma.

Visitation will be at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Chapel in Rush Springs, on Wednesday, April 26, 12:00-8:30 PM and Thursday, April 27, 8:30-11:30 AM.

Mickey was born east of Rush Springs on April 24th, 1939. He grew up on a farm east of town and attended Vimy Ridge Grade School. In 1953, his family moved to the east side of Rush Spring and Mickey attended and graduated from Rush Springs High School in 1957. After graduation, Mickey married Joyce Kaye Hutton on December 17th, 1957 at the Rush Springs Southern Baptist Church. Mickey was the owner of McClure Construction and was the primary builder in the Rush Springs area for over 50 years. He built the Rush Springs Senior Center, remodeled the Vimy Ridge Baptist Church, and the Rush Springs Southern Baptist Church, and he built numerous homes and businesses in the Rush Springs area. Mickey served on the Rush Springs city council, was the president of the Rush Springs Jaycees, and was a devoted member of Southern Baptist and Vimy Ridge Baptist churches. He was an avid bowler, golfer, fisherman, hunter, water skier, card player, and domino player. Mickey and Kaye had three children, Mickey Dewayne, Kelly, and Patrick. They lived in the house Mickey built at 7 Circle Drive in 1965. They had 5 grandchildren, Michael, Lindsey, Erin, Megan, and Mandy. And they have 11 great-grandchildren.

Mickey is survived by his wife Kaye, son Patrick, daughter-in-law Jana, son-in-law Joe, sister Virginia, and brother John.

He was preceded in death by his son Dewayne, daughter Kelly, father John, and mother Bela.

Pallbearers will be: Jeff Roberts, Ricky McClure, Mike Roberts, Bill Meek, Jay Meek, and Kent Fitzpatrick.
