Obituary for Mildred Joan Coast
Marlow: Mildred "Joan" Coast, 77, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021 in Marlow.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at Eastside Baptist Church, with Rev. Zac Potts and Rev. Eddie Coast officiating. Burial will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.
Joan was born Tuesday, January 25, 1944 in Cordell, to Roy and Gracie (Burris) Harrelson. She attended Rush Springs Schools growing up. Joan met the love of her life, Jim Coast, and they married on April 6, 1960, and celebrated over 60 wonderful years of marriage. She had lived in the Marlow area since 1968, and worked many years in retail for OTASCO. Joan enjoyed square dancing, and was a member of the Marlow Outlaw Squares, square dancing club, and she was a longtime member of Eastside Baptist Church. She loved camping, boating, and fishing, specifically trout fishing, watching Gunsmoke, and she was an excellent cook. Joan was an avid OU fan, and loved watching any sport of their's she could, especially football, basketball, and girl's softball. Out of all the things Joan enjoyed the most, spending time with her family and tending to all her "punkins" was her favorite. She was loved dearly and will be deeply missed.
Survivors include, husband, Jim Coast of the home. 2 sons, Brian Coast and wife Sandy of Marlow, and Randy Coast and wife Patty of Marlow, daughter, Lisa Liggett of Marlow, 8 grandchildren: Ryan Maddox, Justin Maddox, Clay Coast, Jenae Murray, Kayla Toumbs, Laura Kochendorfer, Miranda Hance, and Sarah Coast, 15 great-grandchildren: Jacie Bennett, Payton Maddox, Bretlie Hyde, Anna Toumbs, Ava Toumbs, McKinna Hyde, Alayiah Coast, Jemma Kochendorfer, Kaylyn Coast, Jakeb Murray, Anderson Toumbs, Kynlee Coast, Jane Kochendorer, Jaxon Kochendorfer, and Sevyn Jenkins, brother, Roy Lynn Harrelson of Charlotte, NC, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Wesley Kent Coast, brother, Gary Wayne Harrelson, and son-in-law, Rusty Maddox.
Pallbearers will be: Clay Coast, Jared Toumbs, Jarrod Murray, Justin Maddox, Payton Maddox, and Chris Kochendrofer.
Honorary Pallbearers will be EJ Crow and Mike Crow.
