Nolan Stevenson (Joe) Bloomer, of Bray, died on September 3, 2018 at home, in Bray, Oklahoma. Memorial Services will be held at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Marlow on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 2:00 PM. These services will be conducted by Rev. Steven Boydstun. Interment will be at the Marlow Cemetery with full military honors.

Joe was born March 31, 1941 in Blackwater, Virginia to Steve and Mattie Bloomer. He graduated from high school in Dryden, Virginia, joined the U.S. Army and served for 21 years before retiring. Sixteen of those years were with the Pershing Missile Systems and 11 of those years were served in Germany. During this time he was an instructor and an inspector for the Pershing Missile. After retiring from the Army he attended Red River Vo-Tech and then worked for Green Merrill and Halliburton Services. On April 22, 1966 Joe married Patricia A. Miller at Canton, Oklahoma. After his Army retirement they made their home on the Miller family farm in Bray. Joe enjoyed when Pat retired and they began to go to South Padre Island each winter. He was also actively involved in the Bray Community Food Bank. He loved to garden and maintain the acreage around the home.

Joe is survived by his wife, Pat of the home, 1 son Nolan S. Bloomer, Jr. Virginia, 1 brother and his wife Jeff and Joan Bloomer of Richmond, Virginia, 1 sister, Edith Bloomer of Roanoke, Virginia, 9 nieces, Gina and Ross Berger of Ardmore, Sherry Summers, Pauls Valley, Cathy Summers, Midwest City, Judith Lynn Maxwell, Darmstadt, Germany, Janine Bloomer, Richmond, Virginia, Teresa Bucy, Apex, North Carolina, Kim Craft, Winchester, Virginia, Leigh Belcher, Floyd, Virginia, Cheryl Miller, Cherokee, Alabama, 2 nephews, Kenneth Mance Miller, Dublin, Ohio, Ralph Bryant, Roanoke, Virginia, and 2 special grand-nephews, Jeff Berger, Stigler, Oklahoma, Daniel Berger, Norman,Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Mattie Bloomer, son, Kenneth Ray Bloomer, sister, Getta Bryant, father and mother-in-law, E.M. Mance and Anna Bell Miller, sister-in-law, Phyllis Summers, a nephews, Karl Miller, niece, Cynthia Dewell, 3 brother-in-laws, Gene Summers, Hubert Bryant, and Jimmy Miller, and a sister-in-law, Donna Miller.

Pallbearers will be Earl Lavey, Tommy Mann, Scott Boland, Brian Bearce, Ross Berger, Daniel Berger and Ralph Bryant.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Stephens County Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Bray Community Food Pantry to Lloyd Davis, Treasurer, 1014 South Brooks Road, Marlow, OK 73055.
