Duncan: Norma "Jean" Slay, 90, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2022 in Duncan.
Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, August 11, 2022, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Marlow, with Rev. Ronnie Orf officiating. All arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.
Jean was born Friday, April 15, 1932 in Stephens County, OK, to Amos and Lona (Spencer) Turner. She lived in the Stephens County area all of her life and worked as a quilter and seamstress. Jean enjoyed gambling, reading her bible, and cooking. She also enjoyed gardening, canning vegetables, and making jelly. Jean was the family matriarch for many years and she will be missed by many.
Survivors include her son, Sonny Ramming of the home; 2 daughters, Laverta and husband Bud Tarver, and Diana and husband Buddy Slay of Lindsay; 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Ronnie Turner and wife Anita of Marlow, Jeff Turner of Bray, and Frank Turner of Marlow; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
In addition to her loving husband, Haskall, Jean was preceded in death by her parents, 2 daughters, Linda Wolfe, and Judy Arnold, 2 sisters, Earlene Turner, and Ruby Turner Grey, and 3 brothers, Hershel Turner, Cecil Turner, and Don Turner.
