Obituary for Opal Juanita Kaufmann (Creel)
Marlow: Opal Juanita "Nita" Kaufmann, passed away Friday, June 28, 2019 in Marlow, at the age of 90.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 5, 2019, at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Terra Sisco officiating. Burial will follow in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 3, 2019 from 8:30 AM to 8:30 PM at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.
Nita was born Wednesday, September 19, 1928 in Owens Prairie, OK, to Able and Ruby (Sparks) Creel. She graduated from Owens Prairie School. Nita had lived in Hemet, California for many years before moving back to the Marlow area 15 years ago. She was an insurance agent, who owned Kaufmann Insurance for more than 25 years. Nita married her loving husband, Richard L. Kaufmann in 1969 in Blythe, California; they were married for 50 wonderful years. Nita was a great cook who enjoyed cooking for loved ones as well as enjoyed sewing for her grandchildren. She loved golfing and working in her flower garden. Nita was a joy to everyone that knew her and will be missed dearly. She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include, her husband, Richard L. Kaufmann of the home, a son, Christopher Watson and wife Marie of Buffalo, NY, 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Jerry Creel and wife Lois of Duncan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Nita was preceded in death by a son, Michael Watson, her parents, a brother, Eulan Creel, 2 sisters, Shirley Anderson, and Mary Crow.
Pallbearers will be: her son and grandsons.
