Obituary for Rebecca "Becky" Sue Prater

Marlow: Rebecca "Becky" Sue Prater, 67, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2021 in Marlow.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 16, 2021, at the Marlow Cemetery, with Rev. David Standifer officiating. Burial and all arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.

Becky was born Monday, June 21, 1954 in Wichita Falls, TX, to J.W. and Dorothy Juanita (Bishop) Jones. She was a graduate of Velma High School and had lived in Stephens County all of her life. Becky married her best friend and soul mate, Donald "Bruce" Prater, November 15, 1975 in Bray. Becky and Bruce celebrated over 46 wonderful years of marriage. She and Bruce lived at Lake Humphrey for their first year of marriage, until moving to Bray. They made Bray their forever home and raised their children and grandchildren in the same house and taught them all the real meaning of family roots. Becky was an outstanding wife, mom, and Nana and she always made sure her family was well taken care of. She did everything from carrying cottonseed hull sacks over her shoulders to cooking meals for unexpected guests that were always big enough to feed an army, to even getting up in the middle of the night to help guide Keith out of the woods after a long night of hog hunting. Becky never missed a single ball game or school event for the kids or grandkids. She was a very well respected business woman. Becky loved the ranches and raising cattle and she took great pride in the family's dozer business. She may have been her husband's business partner, but Bruce will proudly say that she ran it all. Becky enjoyed traveling, and they often got in the car for a trip and had no idea where they were traveling to yet. She put her family above everything else in life and they were always her main focus. Becky loved her grandchildren more than words could say, and she enjoyed getting to see them daily. She was loved by many in the community and will be missed by all.

Survivors include her husband of the home; daughter, Amy Sue Lindsey and husband Bruce of Pinedale, WY; son, Donald Keith Prater of Bray; grandchildren, Donald Zan Prater, Neely Don Prater, Addi Jo Prater, and Allie Nicole Van Den Driessche; sister, Lynda Gay Jones of Duncan; and numerous cousins.

Becky was preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Bray Missionary Baptist Church.
