Obituary for Rebecca May Nix (Whitehead)

Lawton: Rebecca May Nix, passed away Monday, April 13, 2020 in Lawton, at the age of 62.

Due to the health crisis, the family has chosen cremation. A Memorial Service will be held on June 11, 2020 at 6:00 PM at the Stephens County Fairgrounds in the Prairie Room. Cremation and all other arrangements have been entrusted to the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.

Rebecca was born Tuesday, June 11, 1957 in Bailey, to Elton and Blanche Beatrice (Davis) Whitehead. She lived in the Stephens County area most of her life and had attended school at Bray. Rebecca married her loving husband, Don Nix in Wichita Falls, Texas on February 4, 1977; they were married for 33 wonderful years before Don's passing on May 27, 2010. Rebecca enjoyed going to church, cooking, and shopping. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren that adored her. Rebecca was a member of the Mission 12 Church in Duncan.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Michelle Mosley and husband Paul of Lawton, Amy Midkiff of Lawton, 4 grandchildren, Hillary Conway, Tyler Nix, Becca Midkiff, and Kayden Nix, 4 great-grandchildren, Jared, Kinley, Memphis, and Caleb. She is also survived by a brother, Roger Whitehead of Bray, 2 sisters, Wanda Morrison of Duncan, Linda Peddycoart of Marlow, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband, Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Elton (Jiggs) Lee Whitehead, Clinton (Slick) Franklin Whitehead, and a sister, Claudine (Toosie) Odessa Manning.
