Obituary for Rev. Gladys Elizabeth Bohannan Barnes Gabriel (Bohannan )

Marlow: Rev. Gladys Elizabeth Bohannan Barnes Gabriel, passed away Friday, July 19, 2019 in Marlow, at the age of 85.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, July 25, 2019, at the First Baptist Church, with Rev. Ron Maxfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.

Gladys was born Saturday, January 6, 1934 in Temple, to Willis Mathis Bohannan and Lester Florance (Cleveland) Bohannan. She attended Temple Schools and later moved to Duncan living there for the last 49 years. Gladys was proud to be able to minister to many people for more than 40 years. She was extremely proud to minister at God's House of Sunshine and be able to read the Bible 52 times front to back. She ran a mission and gave selflessly for many years, this was a great joy for her to be able to help others. Gladys loved her family dearly as she took great pride in their accomplishments. She also enjoyed fishing and reading.

Survivors include, 6 sons, Glen Barnes and Becky of Duncan, Lucky Barnes and wife Kathy of Bray, David Barnes and wife Carol of Duncan, Rex Barnes and wife Laresa of Marlow, Robby Barnes and wife Dawn of Marlow, Vinson Barnes and Donna of Duncan, 4 daughters, Judy Smith and husband Paul of Marlow, Liz McClearen and husband Benny of Marlow, Sherry Crawley and wife Mary of Duncan, Terry Barnes of Duncan. She is also survived by 32 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, many cousins, as well as a host of friends.

Along with her 2 husbands Bill Barnes and Don Gabriel, Gladys was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Barnes, a granddaughter, Carol Sellers, a grandson, Michael Barnes, 2 great-granddaughters, Johnna Miller, Debra Phillips, 2 great-grandsons, Jacob Miller, Dillon Barnes, and her parents.




Pallbearers will be: Glen Barnes, Lucky Barnes, David Barnes, Rex Barnes, Robby Barnes, and Vinson Barnes.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: John Carnell, J.P. Smith, Cody Carnell, Jason Boyster, Kenneth Barnes, Phillip Barnes, Jeremy Barnes, Vinson Barnes, Jr., Chris Barnes, Levi Barnes, and Glen Barnes, Jr.
