Rush Springs: Robert Joe Sampley, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2018 in Rush Springs, at the age of 87.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM, Friday, October 26, 2018, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs, with Rev. Vivian Garza officiating. Burial will follow in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs.

Robert was born Monday, August 24, 1931 in Rush Springs, to Willie and Bonnie B. (Evans) Sampley. He lived in the Rush Springs area all of his life and attended school there too. Robert married his lovely wife, Betty Ryans on May 3, 1952 in Lawton. They were married for 66 years. He worked as a brick mason for over 50 years and loved to work on houses as well as tinkering with cars. He enjoyed playing on his computer, watching pool and wrestling on TV. But most of all Robert loved spending time with his family that will dearly miss him.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Sampley of the home, a son, Michael Sampley of Rush Springs, 3 daughters, Susan Gibson of Rush Springs, Beverly Seaba of Rush Springs, Cheryl Cox of Rush Springs, 4 grandchildren, Dana Simpson, Chrystal Gregg, Amy Delk, Daniel Loyd, 6 great-grandchildren, Zach Brown, Alana Brown, Traci Loyd, Evan Loyd, Cammron Ellis, Bella Simpson. He is also survived by 3 brothers, Ray Sampley and wife Patsy of Lawton, Billy Sampley of Lawton, Darell Sampley of Lawton, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Anderson, a granddaughter, Elecia Ellis, his parents, 5 brothers, Vic Sampley, Rick Sampley, Roy Darrel Sampley, Frank Sampley, Hershal Sampley, 2 sisters, Ethel Williamson, and Sylvia Willoughby.


Pallbearers will be: Ray Sampley, Billy Sampley, Darell Sampley, Jessie Sampley, Jim Fincher, and Tim Rupp.
