Obituary for Sammy Ray Harrell
Marlow: Sammy Ray Harrell, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2020 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 70.
At the family's request cremation has taken place and a service will be scheduled at a later date. Cremation and all other arrangements have been entrusted to the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.
Sammy was born Tuesday, January 3, 1950 in Lubbock, TX, to Rayburn "Cowboy"and Lucille "Lucy" Jewel (Wright) Harrell. He had lived in the Stephens County area most of his life and had graduated from Duncan High School. Sammy married his loving wife, Reda Hollingsworth in Duncan on August 28, 1971; they were married for 48 wonderful years before his passing. Sammy drove a truck for Dolese for more than 11 years before retiring. He had a love for the outdoors, enjoying camping, fishing, and boating. Sammy liked going to the drag races but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include, his wife, Reda Harrell of the home, a daughter, Stephanie Christman and husband Keith of Duncan, 2 sisters, Bertie Hartman of Marlow, Pamela Evans of Lawton, as well as several nieces.
Sammy was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Sonny Harrell.
