Obituary for Shirley Waldo

Marlow: Shirley Diane "Nana" Waldo, 63, passed away Monday, December 19, 2022 in Duncan.

Memorial services will be planned at a later date. Cremation and all arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.

Nana was born Sunday, February 1, 1959 in Wichita Falls, TX, to Henry and Wanda (Gibbons) Sternadel. She was a graduate of Marlow High School. Nana lived in the Stephens County area all of her life and devoted her time to being a homemaker and raising her 2 children. She ran an in- home daycare for many years and later worked at Goodyear in lawton, where she retired after 16 years. She married James Douthit in March 2009. Nana and James celebrated 13 wonderful years of marriage at the time of her passing. She enjoyed cooking and was very good at it. Nana also enjoyed scrolling through Facebook and playing with her dogs. She loved going to the casino and to Las Vegas. Nana loved her family and spending time with them. She will be dearly missed by all.

Survivors include her husband, James Douthit of the home, son, Andrew Waldo and wife Jessika of Empire, daughter, Amanda Rico and husband Daniel of Albuquerque, NM, 3 grandchildren, Serenity Underwood, Paisley Waldo, and Parker Waldo, 2 brothers, Todd Alpers and wife LeAnn of Broken Arrow, and Alan Sternadel and wife Janice of Duncan, 2 sisters, Leslie Obel and husband Klaus of Scottsdale, AZ, and Debbie Willis of Marlow, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Steven Sternadel, aunt, Mary Lyons, and brother in law, Kenny Willis.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Stephens County Humane Society.
