Obituary for Tommy D. Williams
Norman: Tommy D. Williams, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2019 in Norman, at the age of 72.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, April 6, 2019, at the Chisholm Trail Church of Christ in Duncan, with Leonard Keele officiating. All arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.
Tommy was born Friday, December 6, 1946 in Lawton, to Albert L.and Ruby M. (Powell) Williams. He graduated from Marlow High School with the Class of 1965 and continued his education with University of Central Oklahoma graduating in 1973 with a masters degree. He lived in the Marlow area most of his life until moving to Norman 6 years ago to be with his grandchildren whom he adored. Tommy married the love of his life Barbara Tuck in Lawton on August 30, 1968 and they enjoyed 50 wonderful years together. Tommy worked as a counselor and administrator for the Marlow Public Schools for more than 17 years and loved his job dearly. He was a great friend to many and kept life long friendships with those in the class of 1965. He was especially proud to be a member of the 1964 Marlow State Football Champs. Tommy enjoyed all forms of athletics and spending time with his family. Tommy served a number of years as an elder at the Chisholm Trail Church of Christ. He was a member of the V.F.W., Lions Club, and a member of the Alameda Church of Christ in Norman.
Survivors include, his wife, Barbara Williams of Norman, 2 sons, James Williams and wife Kiley of Norman, Philip Williams of Eugene, OR, a daughter, Julie Williams of Oklahoma City, 2 grandchildren, Emily Williams, and Graham Williams. He is also survived by a brother, Benny Williams and Margie of Branson, MO, 3 sisters, Jean Cooper and husband Ron of Montgomery, TX, Nancy Smith and husband John of Kyle, TX, Joyce McLeod of Hollister, MO, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents.
