Marlow: Troy Franklin Choate, 91, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021 in Marlow.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, January 11, 2021, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel, with Rev. David Standifer and Rev. Steven Gillispie officiating. Burial will be in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow. Visitation for Troy will begin Saturday from 8:30 AM to 8:30 PM. There will also be a family visitation on Sunday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Troy was born Sunday, April 7, 1929 in Marlow, to Oscar F. and Goldie Mae (Worley) Choate. He met Joan L. Riley and they married on February 19, 1951, and they celebrated 69 wonderful years of marriage. Troy was a proud member of the United States Army, and served in the Korean War. He and his family lived in Bakersfield CA., before relocating to Marlow, and making it their home for the last 41 years. Troy worked at the refinery for many years as a chief operator, before becoming a full time farmer and rancher. He loved spending time outdoors and working on his farm. Troy raised quarter horses and cattle, along with various other animals. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and loved his dog, but he especially loved his family and spending time with them.

Survivors include, wife, Joan L. Choate of the home, 2 sons: Randy Choate and wife Vicki of Salmon, ID, and Greg Choate and wife Paula of Marlow, 7 grandchildren: Rachelle Worley, Chad Choate, Casey Choate, Reis Choate, Austin Choate, Erica Cox, and Aimee Davis, 15 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, sister, Pat Mealey of Bakersfield, CA., and daughter in law, Carolyn Choate.

Troy was preceded in death by his parents, son, Chris Choate, brother, Coy Choate, and great-grandson, Cyrus Choate.

Pallbearers will be: Austin Choate, Reis Choate, Chad Choate, Casey Choate, Tommy Worley, Jason Cox, and Derek Davis.

Memorial contributions can be made to the DAV, Wounded Warriors, or the donor's choice.
