Obituary for William Henry Ball

Rush Springs: William "Bill" Henry Ball, 101, went to be with his Lord and Savoir, Thursday, February 3, 2022 at his home in Rush Springs.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 14, 2022, at the Marlow Cemetery, with Bryan Brantley officiating. All arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.

Visitation will be at Callaway Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs on Saturday, February 12, 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM, Sunday, February 13, 1:00 PM - 8:30 PM, and Monday, 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM

Bill was born Tuesday, November 9, 1920 in Waco, TX, to Loyd Burt and Viva (Wilkerson) Ball. He lived in Grady County all of his life and worked as a Heavy equipment operator, farmer and rancher. Bill was proud to be an Airplane Mechanic in World War ll for The United States Marines. He married his soul mate, Geraldine Farmer on January 29, 1947 and celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary before her passing Feb. 17th 2014. Bill was a member of The Church of Christ in Rush Springs. Bill enjoyed eating lunch at the Senior Citizen's Center, playing the banjo, drawing, and taking care of his cattle. He loved his cookies and was always known to have a spare cookie in his pocket. He loved his family more than anything and cherished the time he spent with them. Bill will be missed by many.


Survivors include 3 sons, Loyd Ball and wife Dorothy of Rush Springs, Sam Ball and wife Pam of Newcastle, and Rodney Ball and wife Kathy of Rush Springs, daughter, Carolyn Zumwalt and husband Gayle of Marlow, 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, brother, Carrol Wayne Ball of Shingle Springs, CA, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife, Geraldine, parents, 3 brothers, Troy, Orvil, and Esco, and 5 sisters, Oleta, Ethel Lea, Nelda, Velda, and Viva Mae.
