Duncan: Wida Yvonne Mitchell, 91, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2022 in Duncan.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Marlow, with Rev. Kathy Gibson officiating. Burial will be in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.
Yvonne's visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday, May 23, 12:00-8:30 PM, and Tuesday, May 24, 8:30 AM - 8:30 PM.
Yvonne was born Sunday, August 24, 1930 in Marlow, to Roy and Mollie (Robertson) Tugmon. She attended Bray Schools. Yvonne worked as a waitress for many years at various restaurants and also received the Employee of the Month Award from the Chamber of Commerce. She married Charles McKelvey in Wichita Falls, TX in 1945 and they were married for 5 years. Yvonne later went on to marry William "Bill" Dan Mitchell in 1967. She and Bill celebrated 28 years of marriage before he preceded her in death in 1995. Together they owned and operated Mitchell Appraisals for more than 20 years. Yvonne was a member of the Phi Sigma and Omega Sorority for many years and held many offices within the sororities. She was also a former member of the Elks Country Club, as well as the TGandY Canasta Club for 30 years, and she was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Duncan. Yvonne loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. She will be missed by many.
Survivors include her daughter, Kay Heelan and husband Richard of Duncan; grandchildren, Charles Heelan, Patrick Heelan and wife Debbie, and Shannon Justice and husband David; several great-grandchildren; sister, Cena Ann Ervin of Blanchard; other survivors include: Molly Henderson and husband Michael, Jacob Ervin, Monty Ervin and wife Jeanice, Lyndie Ervin, and Macie Ervin.
In addition to her husband, Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Roynell Rodgers.
Pallbearers will be: Jack Anderson, Don Creel, Alan Huckabay, Charles Heelan, Patrick Heelan, and Michael Henderson
