Ms. Mary and I shared many years as "Delta Dolls" as we so rightfully dubbed ourselves. Just as life is a roller coaster, we shared many "rides" both personal and professional, you know those ups and downs that made us stronger, as we prayed each other thru them.. We were proud to be working with such a caring loving group of people. She mentored, taught and led with gentle guidance in everything she did. Most of all she was passionate about Head Start. The impacts she made on children, parents and most of all staff, like myself, can't be counted on one set of fingers and toes. She often told me I was passionate too and understood how much we poured into our work.and why.She worked tirelessly to support and serve.
Most of all I remember the love and dedication she had for her family. Each of you represent what her life was about, her family. Best thing is, you each carry her in your hearts, she molded her family and was very proud of them. All have special memories and precious times to carry you thru the coming days..remember how she lived with love, caring, a gentle spirit and compassion for others. She is with you forever.
PS.. We know most of your names because she spoke of you daily for so long and you lived in her heart..
I also shared for many years with her each year in May birthday celebrations. We were born some years and a few days apart which meant we shared many of those awesome birthday hats and cake. There is no one I would rather share that with Ms. Mary. Since retirement, you have been missed in a physical sense but never in our hearts. You are and will always be a "Delta Doll"..wear your crown in heaven proudly my friend you deserve every jewel. It)

When I started working for Head Start she was my Education Manager. I always remember her saying let them (the kiddos) use their imaginations. I still say that today. You will be missed Mrs Mary❤️

We will miss you! Mary was a big part of the success of Delta Head Start! She was a very hard worker and cared so much about the children and families of our communities. She went above and beyond to help the staff with her knowledge and expertise. She supported her co-workers time and time again. She had a unique sense of humor and could make us laugh even in stressful times. She was our "Get-R-Done" gal, and sometimes she even enlisted the help of husband! She always had a positive attitude and let us know that we would get through whatever challenges that came our way. She will be missed and our thoughts and prayers are with Lee and the rest of the family.
